I totally agree with Ruth about keeping Christianity at the core of our values. For example if you’re wanting a tree to grow you don’t chop off the roots, you cut back the branches. You can keep Christianity as the core value and branch out to the other beliefs. I have been taught and believe that true Christianity has and does tolerate other religions and beliefs, but there is a very BIG difference in tolerating and made to accept. True Christianity doesn’t change, it is centered on Jesus Christ. (as the Bible says Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. Heb.13:8) If Davidson wants to fall in line and be like other colleges, well fall in line with them and make all the changes. If Davidson still wants to stand out, rise above the others and be the elite among colleges, then you stand strong on the foundation and hang on to it through the tuff times. It may need alittle cosmetic work, and pruned once in awhile but don’t break away the core or the main root. It just may start to rot from the inside out.
